CATHERINE M. DIELEMAN, PhD

ECOSYSTEM ECOLOGIST

I am a Research Associate at the University of Guelph, Canada. As an ecosystem ecologist I explore fundamental relationships between contemporary disturbance regimes and biogeochemical pathways within the boreal biome. My current research program combines intensive field and long-term laboratory manipulations, large-scale field observations, and multivariate modelling to answer questions involving disturbance legacy effects and ecosystem resilience theory.

I received my B.Sc. and M.Sc. at McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada, where I first developed my life-long passion for biogeochemistry. However, it was during my Ph.D. at the University of Western Ontario, London, Canada that I fell in love with the boreal.
